I like the frame within a frame idea--I used the gold in the frame to carry the warm yellow orange through and around the painting surface.

In this one I set it up using pieces of paper to create a focal point. Yellow definitely attracts the eye.

#4 Vase with a pink hat

When I was painting this, I was reminded of a recent visit to the National Gallery, in Washington DC. It made me think of Vermeer's "girl in a red hat" (one of my all time favorites), so I decided to call it "vase with a pink hat".
